Last week Tyler and I took a trip to San Diego, California for work and play and boy was it wonderful. We filled up our four days there with great conversations about the future of Cate Magazine and other business endeavors that we can’t wait to share with you. During our off-hours, we were able to spend time with one of Tyler’s good friends and also have some time alone together. It’s been eight months since we had a trip without the kiddos. And, anyone who’s a parent reading this understands how necessary it is to continue to take vacations with your person to create new memories that the two of you can share.

You’d be surprised how much can be accomplished in four days when you’re on a mission. Tyler and I met up with a company called Cymbiotika. Their products are designed from the ground up and are scientifically proven to deliver results. And, for a little extra reassurance, their website reads this:

“We believe that food is the best medicine, but modern diets often leave us lacking vital nutrients. That’s where Cymbiotika comes in.

Our story began with a need to fill nutritional gaps and provide our bodies with everything vital for optimal health. We recognized an alarming lack of transparency in the supplement industry, with products full of fillers, toxins and synthetic ingredients. We were reluctant to take supplements because we couldn’t trust them.”

It continues, “We don’t want you to feel the way that we felt.

After years of research, Cymbiotika has created the best supplements on earth. We combine scientific innovation with traditional Eastern medicine to design formulas that synergize with the body. Our supplements are sourced from only the highest quality plant-based ingredients and utilize the most advanced absorption technology.”

Along with that, they recently released a new plant protein powder. From our conversation and reading on CELEB, their new protein is “made from a proprietary combination of Hemp Protein, Spirulina, and Pea Protein. Its purpose is to maximize gut health, support the immune system and, increase energy and performance.”

Alongside our new Cymbiotika endeavors, we of course had to discuss new things for CATE Magazine! We made time during our four days to meet up with our good friend Nik Richie. Nik runs Richie Media Corporation and has been awesome to work with. The three of us brainstormed ideas for the future of our magazine and I must say, I am SO excited. I will be sharing more details in time but for now, just know that you have plenty to look forward to.

Enough Of Work, Let’s Talk Play

Like I said before, this was mine and Tyler’s first trip as just the two of us in eight months. So, with that being said, we had to adventure around the dreamy beach land.

We stayed at Hotel del Coronado which sits beautifully on the water right next to Coronado Beach. The grounds are absolutely breathtaking. We stayed in the Victorian side of the building. It’s crowded with history and memories of old Hollywood stars who once stayed there.

Throughout our trip, we devoured some of the most amazing Mexican food. I’m still thinking about it. We also had breakfast at this spot called Snooze. They have a mouth-watering menu.

Tyler’s friend Mark also showed us around the area. It was heartwarming to see the two of them together. He took us to see the seals in La Jolla which was so cool. We didn’t get too close because we didn’t want to get bit but it’s pretty wild that they didn’t mind so many people being around them. They’re pretty much local celebrities.

We visited Sunset Cliffs which is another breathtaking location in San Diego. You can literally sit on the edge of the cliff and watch the sunset over the horizon. It’s often said that San Diego has the best sunsets and that is in no way wrong, watching it from the cliffs only made the experience more magical.

To be honest, being on the water is my safe space. It calls me! Tyler and I grew up around water and couldn’t imagine living somewhere that doesn’t have a body of water nearby. We will always choose the water, a boat, or toes in the sand when it’s an option. This time around, we weren’t able to enjoy the water because it was still a bit too cold but, we will be back. We most definitely want to spend more time there, hanging out on the beach and swimming in the ocean.
