It’s fun to shake things up every now and then, especially when it’s something visually about ourselves. Like cmon. We all love the feeling after a fresh cut, a new set of clothes, new nail color, and whatever else. One of my favorite things to change is my hair color. Thanks to the convenient situation of having an awesome hair stylist, I find myself in the salon often haha.

Coloring my hair is always fun for me. I’ve worn many colors from the purplest of purples to natural brown and blonde tones.

The purple has definitely been my favorite so far. Actually, I didn’t even know that I wanted it until I saw it on someone else. That someone else is my wonderful hair stylist. Steph, at Atmosphere Hair Studio in Novi, Michigan, was rocking this purple color. The moment that I saw it on her I was like, ‘girl give me that!’ haha. So, she did it and I still love it as much as the day I got it. Although, we’ve been thinking about switching it up next time and going red.

The kids and Tyler also enjoy it when I come back from the salon because they don’t know if I’ll return with the same or a new color.

I think Tyler’s favorite look was when I had my brown/blonde ombre. But Nova on the other hand LOVES my purple hair.

If you’re curious about changing your hair color and slightly nervous about a new look, my advice is to be gradual. You don’t have to jump from color to color, those are two opposite extremes. You can gradually try new shades of blonde, brown, or black. You can also add in “highlights” of color before going over your entire head with it.

Another piece of advice is to find a stylist that you click with and can trust. Having someone who truly cares about your confidence when leaving their chair is important. Because, your hair is a major part of our appearance, and none of us want to feel insecure about it.
