Music is a form of mediation. It opens up the mind and heals the soul. Nothing compares to hearing your favorite singer(s) or bands up on a stage surrounded by a crowd. Tyler and I definitely prefer live music just as much as the next person. Since having kids, however, we can’t make it to every show like we used to, haha. But that’s okay.

Music is always there for us when we need it most. Our genre preference is ever-changing with our moods. Here’s some of what we love currently.

Choosing A Favorite Is Not Easy

Tyler’s interest in music depends on where he’s at personally. He’ll go through waves or cycles of specific artists and their music. For him, it depends on who and what’s most relatable at that time. Recently, he’s been caught up with SYML. He also listens to Peia and meditates with some of her music.

SYML is a mix of alternative, indie, and pop music. His stage name actually means “simple” in Welsh. He was adopted and later in life found out that his biological parents are Welsh. His music is influenced by his experiences growing up adopted and his heritage.

Peia has an ethereal/nature-based type of sound. Tyler meditates to her song “Let The Water Wash Over ME” and “Beauty Thunders” very often. He says that her voice is eternal sounding and instantly gives him peace.

One of Tyler’s best friends is Sik World. He was influenced by artists like Eminem to TV shows like Dragon Ball Z. For him, music became a coping skill for his anxiety and depression in high school. He would put his work online and now, here he his.

Another good friend of Tyler’s is Witt Lowry. He’s a rapper from Connecticut who was actually a graphic design graduate before getting into music. His name is a combination of the term “witty” and a spin on his middle name, Laurence. His delivery his an Eminimen vibe but his lyrics can get very deep and personal, making him very relatable.

Both Witty and Sik World have awed us with their talents. What they each have accomplished individually as independent artists is truly remarkable and inspiring. We’re super proud of the both of them.
