Turning Day Dreams Into Realities Through Imaginations and Reaching Goals, One Step At A Time

Let’s take a walk down memory lane, shall we? Does anybody remember those days in grade school when our teachers would have us brainstorm about what we wanted our future to look like? They’d ask us, ‘what do you want to be when you grow up?’ or ‘where do you want to live?’ and so on. And, thinking back, how in the world was a seven-year-old supposed to have the answers to those questions. And in reality, we weren’t. But, what we were supposed to do was dive into our imagination and realize all of the possibilities of what we can become and maybe even set up steps or goals on how we can make those dreams tangible.

As parents or teachers or any type of adult figure, we’re expected to keep that magic alive for children, letting them know that they can do anything they set their minds to. It’s also important that we consistently work towards our own goals and dreams as we continue to grow. Personally, I lead by example and pledge to always be honest with my kids.

I teach my girls that in order to have specific things in life that we want, we have to set goals and work to achieve them. At the young ages that they still are Tyler and I already began teaching them this lesson and do our part in motivating them to not give up, even when things get hard. For example, the hamster story with Nova. She wanted this new furry friend so bad so we had her set a goal and once it was reached she was allowed to get it. Not only was she excited about the hamster but it also gave her a sense of confidence and happiness which was amazing to witness as a parent.

Kids and animals were two things that I adored most so I often thought about becoming a veterinarian or a teacher however, being a mom came first and I’m so grateful that it did because I am so blessed to have my beautiful girls.

For as long as I can remember, I always wanted to be a mother! I often dreamed of having kiddos and being the best momma I could be. My Grandma and Grandpa Lowell inspired me so much as a child. Seeing them married and together, working and being parents, I knew that one day I too wanted a family and husband so loving as caring as my grandpa was to my grandma.

One thing that I didn’t ever imagine was being on television. Never in a million years did I EVER think that I would be on TV sharing my life. What a sweet addition this was to me life though. Being with the Teen Mom franchise has been an amazing experience and allowed me to see parts of the world I might not have ever seen and meet tons of wonderful people that I might’ve never met.

An imagination that runs for miles with daydreams of what life can become can be empowering. It’s almost like that sense of hope that we need to get through life. Although some dreams and fantasies might be out of our lane, not all of them have to be. Passions can be fulfilled with hard work and dedication and lead you to places that you never thought you’d get to. Not only that, but when you do reach certain goals you set out for after a daydream occurs, you heighten your confidence levels and elevate your happiness.

My children are what get me out of bed in the morning to keep working towards my goals. As they get older and become more aware of the reality of the world around them, I want them to be able to say that they saw their mom work hard and provide a good life for them, one that they hope to be able to give to themselves or a family of their own some day.
